In a collaborative project with 6 art students, for 1 hour and 25 minutes, we discuss the complex relationship we have with our bodies. We talk about the physical/functional challenges of the body, and the mental and emotional labour associated with our struggles. We share how our body image has affected us and the pressures and expectations of society, family, friends, boys/men and media have inflicted on us. Each of us express things that make us feel good about our bodies and where we are in our journey to accepting our body. Individually, we imprint our bodies onto a fitted sheet in response to the discussion. Meanwhile, as a group we create playful, carefree hand paintings on various coloured fabrics.
